So during the trip in Yangshuo I made a passing comment to my roommate about needing to get a haircut if I’m to survive the rest of the stay in China. So now he keeps asking what hairstyle I’m going to get and telling me about the whereabouts of the closest salon to CLI. I was almost ready to do it. Plan would have been either getting it cut roughly by half so it’s back to just shoulder length or going all the way and cutting it all. But after a few days I still have my full length and don’t think I’ll be going through with anything here. For some time now I’ve been setting graduate school graduation as the preliminary event to any haircuts, and it there are to be any goals on that schedule which I complete on my defined timeline that one is easiest to meet. Plus I need more photos of me with long hair for the Facebook archives.

Otherwise nothing significant occurred today, so sorry nopictures . Class in the morning and then for the first time a completely open afternoon. No planned event or dinner today. So that gave me a chance to catchup on some blogging and then later in the afternoon went out into Guilin for dinner with some of the other students. Just got a bowl of rice noodles with some vegetables and meat at a nearby place one student often went to during his previous study abroad in Guilin. They were good but not my favorite thus far. The guy who took us there said he used to eat here a couple times a week getting this same this dish, during a previous study abroad. I don’t think I was convinced with my first try that I would return so often. They were good but just not so noteworthy for me. Also they were much wider noodles then any others and stuck to each other a lot, which sort of played against them for me.

Since I have no pictures for today, I wanted to share a video which I don’t remember on what day I took but travelblog.org has disabled direct uploads. I would need to provide a link to a YouTube hosted video, but given that YouTube is inaccessible to me in China it’s not possible for me to share with you. Please address your letters of complaint to <em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">China the Country I assume someone there will figure out how to process it.

FYI to those who are following with vested interest, you know who you are

Gmail has been inaccessible to me on my own computer and the CLI computer for the past few days so I’m not ignoring any messages you may have sent me I just can’t access anything. To which I say, thanks China…
