Re-United with Leo in Bangkok

Hello again, (briefly). Bangkok

Returned to Bangkok for a day to finish shopping and await our Etihad flight home to Larnaca,Cyprus, Via Abu Dhabi.

Flight from Hanoi good, we are greeted by humid high 30's temperatures and blue skies. We have booked a budget hotel to refresh and store our luggage and at around £28, it is better than some of the star rated hotels we stayed at in Vietnam.

We also are far more tolerant of the street food and hygiene here after our Vietnamese experience. We think to finish off our shopping at the King Power shopping Mall, which boasts duty free status.

Unfortunately, prices are three times anywhere else in the City. Decide to hang on to our last few Baht and go back to the Hotel, and catch up on our mail and the blog.

We are only five minutes walk from the Express Sky train terminal to the international airport. So have decided to leave final shopping to Abu Dhabi and get a few hours rest before taking the Express to the Airport and at 90 baht each (£1.50) .

Better than the Taxi, we leave the Far East with some regrets and contemplate another trip to Malaysia , Cambodia and China in two or three years time health and wealth permitting. So we sit in the Beer Garden of the True Siam Hotel, contemplating our last Dinner here in Bangkok and counting down the hours to the end of our trip/blog, but we remember we go back to Cyprus , the Jewel of the Mediterranean and hope our short Winter has gone. Looking forward to walking with our fellow Phoenix people in the beautiful hills and Mountains of our adoptive Hone.

BACK TO SUNNY CYPRUS
Dear Leo and Paula, I have thoroughly enjoyed your blog really good and certainly livened up my days. Hope you have a good flight back to Cyprus and I am sure the weather will be good for you, I bet you are looking forward to seeing Cats! What tales you will have to tell everyone when you resume your walking. Hello to you both Literally just got back to Peyia a few minutes ago. Tired but happy and had so many wonderful experiences, I will pinch myself next week - just to make sure they really happened. We would love to see you both whenever you can organise flights - certainly June is a lovely month. We can do lots more walking too if you want. Now we are back we are going to concentrate on the house/garden/maintenance as it's time to get stuck into some work! Speak soon and hope you are both keeping well x
