We are now back in Gordon's Bay after a much better return flight Toronto/Amsterdam/Cape Town. There was only and 2 1/2 hour layover in Amsterdam and the total travel time was around 23 hours. We found a really great web site that we used to get the best flights. It's http://matrix.itasoftware.com. You can't book through the site, but it covers most air routings around the world, all major airlines and the costs. There is also an app for those using Apple. It's very easy to use and even provides a graph showing the lowest fare over a span of dates. App is ITA Software, "on the fly". I think the ITA is for International Travel Association.

This week we got settled back into our apartment at Highcliffe House after receiving a warm welcome back from Jane and Jim (they stayed up to Midnight to greet us on arrival). We also were able to see Harry and Susan and had a nice lunch with them at Vergelegen before they left to go home to France.

I'm a bit worried about Debra though. She found this beautiful Thai spa just down the road from where we're staying. Going to the Spa

They offer pedicures, manicures, facials, various types of massage etc, etc, etc!!!!
is something she only felt able to do ocassionally at home and here with such a low cost , she will probably go every week. She's even convinced me to get a facial and now I look as young as her. If she continues the frequency of visits when back in Canada I'll have to come out of retirement.

Saturday night a group of us (14 people) went to a Starlight Outdoor Concert which was held in the beautiful Vergelegen Wine estate, which we wrote about previously. (It's owned by Anglo American mining which is an interesting diversification for them). This was a "world class" performance featuring numerous South African singers, dancers etc and superbly supported by the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra. What a wonderful evening sitting under the stars, listening to such an eclectic range of music from Opera to local South African genre. I was particularly impressed with how clear the sound was in this type of venue, aided I think to some degree, by the large Camphor trees that bordered the grounds. The concert was sold out to a capacity crowd of 5,000 many, including our group, coming early to have a picnic and get a
