Quaint church at Jeparit
We stayed overnight in a c/p in town Arrived in Horsham following a beautiful drive through some great farming country with fields of wheat and hay some still to be harvested.Passed through some small towns and hamlets.stopped for morning tea at Nhill quaint town.On arriving in Horsham you can see the Grampians in the distance, must see. Obligatory visit to the Information center before we settled into a C/P just out of town.
Once settled we headed for some local lakes and recreation reserves just out of town.Major Mitchell once past this way in the 1800's and there is an historical marker beside one of the lakes to commemorate this, a reminder of how dedicated these early explorers were. The lakes are used by locals and tourist alike for water sports and fishing although it was quiet when we visited which is sometimes how we like it.
Off to the Grampians National park only 50ks away,we entered the Wartook valley which was beautiful before we start to climb and are reminded of previous visits to other mountainous regions in Australia and the UK, some of the scenery is breathtaking and ever changing.During our drive we visited Mackenzie falls and descended 276 steps to the base of the waterfall

Quaint town well worth it, but you might question that on the way back up. Also visited was Boroka lookout just a walk from the carpark, the vista is amazing. On our way back we pause at Halls Gap a small town nestled at the base of the climb and a haven for hikers and backpackers.Lunch was a picnic at Stawell in the rest area provided b the Lions club along side a small pond.We will let the photos tell the story of the day.
Our last day here in Horsham before moving on to Mt gambier. We spend the day doing chores and the blogg in between the pool and the air conditioning it's warm.Mid afternoon we head for Natimuc a small village about 30ks from Horsham, nearby is the world renown Mt Arapilies which offers the challenge of sheer rock face climbing for which climbers from all over the world flock to. Unfortunately no one was climbing so late in the afternoon but we get to see a wonderful vista from the top,an easy drive.from the bottom the rock face looks daunting but impressive, also at the bottom is a camp site full of climbers waiting for tomorrow.Someone was handy with a

the town pharmacy black marker pen on a road sign on the way in to the camp ground.Passed a couple of combine harvesters on the way there and back, lots of dust.Tomorrow we head for Mt Gambier.
