Well it felt like early spring today. We headed out with a sweater and nylon jacket but by the afternoon we were able to remove the sweaters.

We thought we were going to have to make a trip into Guadalajara for a visit to immigration however our next door neighbour not only had the address of their office in Chapala, she drove us there and provided a quick tour around town at the same time.

I had a quick question for immigration which took all of 5 minutes and then we were then free to spend the rest of the day in Chapala.

We walked along the Malecón where there are still some Catrinas in very good condition from Day of the Dead. Although the English translation of Malecón is Jetty, in both Ajijic and Chapala we think of them as lovely boardwalks.

We wandered as far as the Yacht Club where there will be an Art Show tomorrow. Rather than walking back along the Malecón we took a route closer to the road where there is a local venders market. We found our first souvenir for our daughter Kelly, she collects shot glasses and we found a unique one for Tequila.

After the Market we went back to the main street in Chapala which has real concrete sidewalks unlike Ajijic . We walked to and through the Plaza where we found the vegetable market which was very similar to those on most Caribbean Islands.

There are many little side paths from the main street of Chapala with stairs that lead up the large hill behind the town. This again reminded us of the walkways up the hill from the Carenage in Grenada West Indies.

We went back to the waterfront looking for a restaurant serving local food but those along the waterfront seemed to cater more to tourists. We returned to the main street and every place we passed seemed to have hamburgers rather than tacos. We decided to eat locally another day and settled for a Chinese restaurant before making our way back home.

Catrina, huh? Uh, huh.
That your date, Rick? Not to question your taste but...she's kinda tall. And bony; a mere skeleton. I think you should stick with the babe you've got.
