Welcome To Idahoo
I don't think this really needs an explanation.. Sooo… I suppose I should probably explain more what we’re doing, but I guess anyone who’s supposed to be reading this
should know what we’re trying to do here, so I’ll save us both some time and won’t.
This is Kyli… obviously . Buut, since my mom’s the one driving, I’m the one taking pictures and blogging. Fair trade, I suppose.
Annnyway, we’re FINALLY in South West Montana, two days behind schedule. Oh well.
We found a little Café in West Yellowstone that has Wireless connection, except it costs 20cents a minute, so I had to write this beforehand.. It’s cute, but it lacks a bathroom; something that is VERY necessary in a coffee shop.
ANYway.. Let’s see… I guess I’ll start with yesterday.
We went 650miles in ten hours.
When we first woke up, and were finishing packing it was bright and sunny. Quite nice, really. But then once we got in the car and got ready to leave, it started raining. Which kinda sucked...
I think I jinxed it talking about how ‘It doesn’t ALWAYS rain in Seattle’ the night before on the phone. Lucky
Exit 0
It's Exit 0. What more do you want me to say? for us it went away once we got over the pass.
We stopped at the Thorp fruit stand/Antique shop and got some grappes. It was really windy though, and when I got out of the car my skirt flew up and I flashed a whole bunch of truckers. That wasn’t too fun..
Most of the rest of Washington was.. Really boring, actually. Long. Hot. Dry. A lot of tumbleweeds. We did stop at Arby’s to get a milkshake and pee… Exciting, huh? The cashier had a cool name.. Blair. Oh, and there was this creepy guy outside that was like ‘Hey, I wanna talk to you a sec’ Buuut, being the genius that I am I ignored him and went inside.
Yeah.
That’s how wonnnderful Washington is.
Don’t you all just wanna flock here now?
Next wasss… Idaho. At least, it should be.. That would make sense, wouldn’t it? Idaho was pretty much.. just as boring.
Hot. Dry. Tumbleweeds. Not as long though since we went through the skinny part. It of course started to rain again, but it was pretty nice after being so hot.
And now of course, Montana. When we got
here, it had been raining a lot. Big huge drops, and a lightening storm was starting up. About an hour into the state we saw a car crash. It was.. pretty brutal. The car was totally flipped upside down and crushed and there were about three cop cars. We kept going and the lightening and rain got worse and worse. And then like, a half hour after the car we saw this huge tree fallen across the road . We were only the second people to see it; right behind a REALLLY nice old trucker guy. There was just a guy with a saw cutting it out of the way. I got a few pictures, but they weren’t really that good. It was too dark and the camera won’t zoom. We got past that, and by then the sun had gone down so it was dark, rainy and stormy. The rain drops were making marks as big around as tennis balls on the windshield and they started getting icy. It
Helena
We'll meet again.. When both our cars collide. :p was really windy, and our car kept getting blown around. The lightening was getting bigger and more frequent. It lit up the whole sky in a purple-ish pink color. Quitequitequite lovvverly, if you ask me.
Thennnnnn I, with all my specialness, saw a sign that said ‘Helena Next Right’. Soo, I made my mom go because that’s where my Dad’s Mom’s parents got married, and it’d be cool. . So we went.
But then the next sign said it was in 44 miles, which would be 88 miles out of the way altogether, soo my mom wouldn’t take me. Grr. I did get a picture of the sign though.
The moon was really orange that night. I don’t know if anyone else saw how pretty it was, but I did, and it was grreat.
It was getting late, and I’d been in the small stuffy car all day in the hot and cold weather so I made my mom get us to a campsite. It was really dark and it was about midnight, so we had to share my tent. It was small and cramped, buut, hey whatever..
Soo, that
was all of yesterday. Long drive. Inconsistant weather. Creepy guys. Bed without dinner. Cramped sleeping arrangements. Noisy neighbors.
But hey, you win some, you lose some, right?
I think despite everything it was still pretty funn.
Now for today, which promises to be a much shorter story.
We woke up around 9:00 in the morning, had some coffee, and packed our stuff. No time for breakfast. Just a shower, and then the road again.
At least it was Sunny today.
Well, my mom seemed to have time for something. Some creepy biker guy came up and started talking to her and asked her what she was doing and where she was going and said some stupid creepy line, and gave her his number. Soo.. Yeah.. No further explanation about that. I’d rather not explain it anymore; but she just
haddd to have me put it in here. Heh
Soo.. Yeah. We drove in the general direction of Yellowstone and we almost there, when we saw a sign that said ‘Lewis and Clark Caverns’ soo.. we went out of our way to check it out, because it sounded pretty cool. 10$ per person for a two hour hike through the caverns with Mark and 28 other tourists.
It was deep and a nice, cool, PERFECT 50degrees. Full of stalagmites and stalactites and lot’s of cool stuff. Bats, rats, and the cheesy stories that tour guides have that always seem to earn polite laughs from everybody. Or maybe it’s just so hot that it really is funny.. I don’t know.
But yeah, it was pretty cool. Pictures didn’t turn out to well.. Too blurry and it was too dark to see what I was taking a picture of until the flash went off.
Then we drove straight to Yellowstone annnnnnnd, here we are.
Woww. I can’t believe you just read alll of that.
So yeah.. That’s about it for now.
Until we can find another internet source.
