Princess Vivian
Had to be the top right?
Its the best! Tina Writes: We took another walk along the Walk of Fame, it was almost impossible to avoid as it was the first main street next to the hotel. I had been searching for Esther Williams but never seen it. I did walk past a building used in Pretty Woman, where ‘Skinny Marie’’ was found dead so directly across the road was The Blue Banana. Of course they look nothing like how they did in the movie. We had decided to walk to Rodeo Drive but after a while we realised it wasn’t as close as it seemed so decided on a star tour instead which would show us Movie star homes and take us through Rodeo Drive and end with a view of the Hollywood sign. Our driver was quite entertaining but also a homophobic racist. First interesting place we passed was Vivian’s apartment fire escape which was just around the corner from our hotel. It was difficult not to shout ‘PRINCESS VIVIAN’ at the top of my voice. We then drove past ‘Rydell High’! We carried on through to Beverly Hills and Bel Air where lots of stars homes were pointed out to us, such as Katy Perry, George
Clooney and Tom Cruise. We arrived at Rodeo Drive and the shop where the staff make a ‘big mistake, HUGE’ was pointed out to us and then we passed the ‘Reg Bev Wil’ COOOOOOOL! (I realise a lot of this won’t make sense unless you are a huge Pretty Woman fan). It is important you know that ‘Waltour’, our guide/driver was not a fan of Pretty Woman ‘because it is not ok to be a hoe!’ We then went to the ‘gaybourhood’ where Waltour shouted ‘hello boys’ at the top of the campest voice he could muster over the tanoy of the roofless bus. Although it is actually, officially, a gay area as the Zebra crossings are painted on the roads the colours of the gay pride flag rather than black and white.
After the tour we paid £16 each to meet loads of huge stars including Angelina Jolie and, amazingly, Jimmy Stewart. It was great fun and they were kind enough to let us take lots of photos with them and even dress up as their most infamous characters. This was well worth the money as we had a really good laugh. As we left there was a
random thing were you could get your hand moulded in wax, why this was there I have no idea! but me and Rob decided to get our hands moulded together. It was cool.
We then decided to get the car out and drive to Venice. It’s like 20 miles away which is weird but we wanted to see muscle beach so off we went. After 3 hours in traffic jams, the sun had been set for ages and no-one was on the beach. So pissed off we headed back to the hotel, ditched the car and headed back to Hollywood Blvd for a seafood buffet and then off to bed, bolting the door shut. Reminded me a bit of that bit in ‘Big’ on his first nights stay in New York.
