Tina Writes Next day we woke up naturally, very very early. Got up and headed to Paris for breakfast passing through the casino’s on the way (you can’t seem to avoid that). It became apparent that most of the casinos all look exactly the same as the next. I don’t know why, but I didn’t imagine it to be as digitalised as it is. The casinos are exactly like home but much more expensive to play with a min $10 bet on most games. So we didn’t do much gambling. We then went for a walk to New York New York to see if we could book tickets for Cirque de Soliel’s Zumanity. There was a guy sitting out at a wee stall seemingly selling tickets. After a long conversation we ended up booked on a timeshare presentation for the next day in order to get all 3 tickets for $55 (otherwise it would cost at least $330). We paid our $55 using a Mastercard for which the guy fist bumped me cause he also uses Mastercard.....riiiiiiggghhhhttt.
So back to the hotel to get dressed for the wedding. Rob and Danny went to his room and my hair and
make-up ladies arrived. They set to work and I was transformed within 30 minutes. I got my dress on and just about clipped and zipped everything myself. I headed to the lobby and there was Rob, Danny and my friend Paul waiting, looking very smart in their tuxedos. The limo driver was also there waiting, so off we went. We arrived at the Wee Kirk O’ The Heather Chapel which looked very cool and cute. Myself and Rob were sat with the organiser and taken through all our paperwork and given my bouquet. We choose the songs for Elvis to sing and had a quick rehearsal. My friend Paul moved to Chicago a year ago, so he decided to fly down for the weekend and therefore I thought it would be nice for him to give me away on behalf of my Dad. Elvis sang us down the aisle with ‘Love me Tender’ and the ceremony began with all the family back home watching of the live webcam. The minister was very good but I did find myself trying not to laugh as the sermon reminded me so much of Joey’s sermon for Monica and Chandler with the loving and
the giving and the receiving. We said our vows to each other, Danny handed us the rings like a pro and Elvis sand ‘Burning Love’ which we had to join in with at points. It was a great laugh but also a bit of a ‘riddy’. Danny did the best with the singing. We were announced husband and wife, kissed and sang down the aisle with none other than ‘Viva Las Vegas’. We then had a chance to go back into the chapel and say hi to everyone back home on the webcam. I wish I had known about this as I would have planned it a bit more and had a bit more to say, so sorry if I missed you out on the shout-out. We then did the photos, which were super cheesy poses. Back to the hotel and walking through the hotel we got ‘congratulations’ shouted at us constantly. We decided to go up the LV Eiffel Tower as this is where we got engaged a few months back in the real Paris. We watched the Bellagio fountain from here and then headed to the front of the fountain to watch another and take pictures. We decided
on The Bellagio buffet for dinner as it gets the best reputation. It was a fab buffet. Unbelievable food and all you can drink Mojitos for $10. My dress seemed to shrink shortly after this (piece of crap) ;P . We then did some gambling and once again the jet lag caught up with us and we headed to bed. Danny went on his own little adventure though, done some gambling, lost and got stupidly drunk visiting the likes of Caesar’s Palace and collecting the hooker cards from the distribution guys to add to his already large collection.
It was a great day and a great wedding. We are so glad we did it this way.
