We woke early again having shaken off the remnants of jet-lag. A quick coffee in bed, courtesy of Kate's mastery of the coffee maker, and it was time for a swill and a stroll to Starbucks for breakfast - we put our misgivings about Starbucks behind us as there are very few breakfast options here on a Sunday.

The days sightseeing had a false start after a couple of blocks when when we realised that we (a euphemism for JC) had forgotten the camera. Capitol Hill was our target and on the way we passed the Carnegie Library and took in a spectacular procession that was part of LatinoFest. The Capitol Building is indeed impressive and offers a spectacular view down to the Washington Monument

Kate insisted that every holiday should include a museum - DC boasts many - and we agreed to visit the National Museum of American Indians. The visit was fascinating, insightful and covered all of the Americas, not just the USA. The visit was completed with a light snack of Blue Corn Bread with quinoa and cauliflower salad

We made an obligatory visit to the Library of Congress and then headed off down Pennsylvania Ave where the LatinoFest was noisily in full swing. In the hotel lobby we got chatting to a couple from Wakefield who are catching the same train as us to NYC tomorrow - it's a small world.

We popped around to an 'American Football' bar for the evening grub - I enjoyed yet another burger and fries. Strong beer, or what, Kate's was 9%!! It didn't take much to encourage sleep afterwards!!

Whatever!
Looks as though you're having a good time. Some blue skies at least. Go easy on the 9% beer!
