The "Masterpiece"The "Masterpiece"The "Masterpiece"

The sun sets over Lake Titicaca. (Got it right this time Lamey!!)
We´ve decided to combine Copacabana and Puno because we didn´t really do much in either place and thought 1 boring blog far better than 2!!

Copacabana

Right then, Copacabana .... as I said, didn´t really do much or take any photos for that matter. There is 1 "masterpiece" as Gray likes to call it of the sun set over Lake Titticaca which was kind of spectacular. We did suffer possibly the worst day of our trip so far. I can´t go into it but it involved no sleep and and agonisingly slow boat trip to a near deserted island with stray pigs. Gray also decided it was time to introduce me to his alter ego "Infermo Boy" (FYI infermo is Spanish for ill)

Puno

So, now onto Puno and another border cross (hola Peru). This one a lot less dramatic than the last, though still such a hassle. I´m beginning to detest them which isn´t a good thing bearing in mind just how many we still have to do. I think I´m just lazy .... infact I know I´m just lazy and I hate queueing!! Anyway, Puno was just a short stopover before Cusco. There were a

couple of boat trips to some nearby islands but we weren´t falling for that one again!! We opted for a quick tour to some floating islands made from reeds. Now, I really don´t know how I feel about this. I can´t work out whether is really cool or just completely ridiculous. Living on an island with no amenities what so ever whilst being 10 mins away from perfectly good dry land. They do look cool though and the boats are impressive but what happens in a storm!?? As for fire safety .... open fires on straw!? hmmmm .....

Speaking the best Spanish we could (and understanding very little) we befriended a 15 yr old girl. She was very sweet and even got her parents to take a pic of the 3 of us .... maybe to hang proudly on her bedroom wall!?? ; )

Morning came and we were out of there. Puno was a building site, full of shadey looking characters and at every turn people trying to sell you god awful finger puppets!! Not a very good first impression of Peru. All aboard (Rob you are gonna love this!)..... PONY EXPRESS!!! It definately lived up to

Thanks!
My dad will be pleased of the picture of another foreign bus! Keep them coming (im not even joking, he really does like it!!) A floating island, how bizarre! I agree though Lynny, I think it's a bit ridiculous! (although if you stayed on it for a week just to say you have, then it's cool!) ;o) That place looks beautful, and the boat made of reeds is wicked, I love the face on it! The sunset picture is amazing! Aaaw Spicy you don't look too well, although I'm sure it's a case of "man flu" and probably a case of being a bit melo dramatic as men do, is that right Lynny?!! he he! :o) And Pony Express.........ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! All aboard! ;o) Take care of yourselves xxx
