Doesn´t get much better
Great patio to sit back and relax on. Absolutely perfect Well the greek islands are definitely worth checking out. whether u like to party or relax on a beach they all kick ass. So after Corfu me and Jordan headed to Ios not really expecting a full blown party town but thats what we got. We managed to take it easy. For the most part. So many crazy little clubs for such a tiny town on a tiny island. They were all packed with Italians, well the odd aussie or spainyard but mostly italians. So talking to girls proved to be difficult. Chow bella is about as far as any conversation got, LOL. But the clubs were tiny and packed like a sardeen can. Not my bag of chips. I need some leg room. We showed up in Ios with absolutely nowhere to stay and lucked out for sure. Found a 2 bedroom apartment for 20 euro a night with a patio veiw of the entire town. So cool. We chilled on the patio all night playing guitar and listening to tunes. I didn´t enjoy the island as much as i could have because i was hungover for the mostpart. But the second night was fun. Jordan had like a 5
Ios town
Can u picture like 20 clubs crammed into this lil city. yeah in know--- Crazy hour nap so it left me to find something to do. Met all these Irish girls staying in an apartment in Ios for 2 months. And as usual my guitar ended upgetting busted out and the tunes played. Such a good way to meet people. In no time we had a gathering of all the Irish girls, some italian guys (the most balls in ur face italians i´ve ever met) and some young ass noregian kids that loved metallica. Finally i dragged Jordans ass out of bed and we went out. Ios has streets like freaking 5 feet wide and when the town is packed wiht young tourists getting trashed its hard to get around. We checked out a few clubs but really weren´t into it. to many people in 2 small of a space. I think we drank enough in Corfu anyways. So the island has some sweet beaches with great scenery (no not the ocean) but basically the island is all rock. It was cool. So the next night we had to hang out in Santorini Harbour to catch our transfer ferry to Crete. That suked sleeping on a concrete slab with this stupid German shepard constantly bugging
Ios
Nice coastline, shabby interior me.
CRETE
So the next day we finally made it to Crete. We decided wiht such a huge island we would rent a car. We scored a cool little 5 speed Suzuki vitara with no roof. Perfect for cruising the biggest of the greek islands. Man is Crete ever a sweet island. I´m talking miles of winding highways and roads going through georges, valleys, flats, cliffs, off road, on road. Best call ever renting the Jeep. Jordan even learned to really drive standard, O´Leary style (can´t find em grind em LOL). But wow so sweet, We checked out this beach in Matala and it a had an old roman burial ground. Now this was cool the caverns were carved into the side of a solid rock cliff. MAn it was cool. The beach was sweet 2 but the roman history really made it. Next we headed to this haunted castle called Frankestello. Also located on a suped sweet long beach. It was old, rocky and dry. Man it was like 40 out and we just wanted to jump in the ocean. So freaking hot. So after that we headed up all these super crazy winding coastal roads. Some
The veiw from our pad
Great patio to sit back and relax on. Absolutely perfect amazing veiws along that road. We had to cut through alot of the famous georges to get to Hania. We saw so many cre-cre, which are apparently endangered (they are like mountain goats). Real cool. But what a drive. Sorta scary when there are no gaurd rail and your on the top of a mountain. Another cool thing about cruising the island were all the little towns. You would drive straight up a mountain zig zagging throuhg hairpins the whole way and there would be a freaking village at the top. So cool. So once we got to Hania we found some groceries and investigated a place to stay (hostels or hotels were out of the question we payed alot for the rental so we crashed in it). We found this clutch point surrounded by ocean and an island off the point. It was Beautiful. Waves crashing in on old coral shorline. Not the best swimming spot but great for camping. We had a little fire so we could cook our dinner. Potatoes, sausages, onions, mushrooms, and 10 garlic cloves rapped in tinfoil and jammed in the coals. So freaking good. We were really sweating burnign down the island. Everything
Santorini
Yes those white things are houses
was so dry a spark would be the end of it. Luckily we are smart and pissed all over that fire pit LOL. The next morning we got up and checked out the Samaria george. Know we were under the impression u could drive right into the heart of it. But we were wrong or went in from the wrong side. We would have hiked it but sleep doesn´t come easy in a Tiny jeep with 2 guys. So we headed down the coastal highway to Malia. The resort town for the british. And was the guide book ever right --- hundreds of sunburnt brits riding quads around woth no shirts. Love it. But real sweet beaches. Wish i could have stayed a couple more night it could have been real FUN. So we just chilled by this ocean side pool and had a nice seista. Well the next day was our flight so we layed in the airport all day then flew into France. And that was Crete, probably missing alot but it was fun. The Jeep really took a beating. but the best call ever having a car. In fact i miss driving. But everyone keep in touch
