This blog should have been entitled “For Dog Lovers” as it is more about our dog’s first adventure with us traveling. Last November we adopted a new dog. We’ve named him Flash and everyone who meets him agrees that it is a perfect name for him. Our new family member is an American Eskimo and he is about 2 years old. He was with us at our stationary home for about 9 weeks before we took off for our winter adventure.
Initially he was impressed with the view from the back of the couch as the RV traveled down the road. Eventually he settled into snoozing on my lap. He enjoyed each stop at a rest area or campground and inhaled all the wonderful new smells. We spent seven weeks at the Escapee Rainbow Plantation in Alabama and everyone had a wonderful time. George golfed, I quilted and Flash made many new friends at the dog park. His friends ranged in size and breed. I don’t dare try to list them as there was an ever changing group of playmates. Telling the world about his experience
He has a whole variety of sounds besides the normal barks and howls.his BFF and they were well matched in their games and wrestling. He even went to Florida one afternoon to enjoy frolicking at a dog beach.
Next we all headed to Ennis, Texas to introduce Flash to more people, dogs and assorted farm animals. He was a busy pup running back and forth to check on/bark at the horses, goats, sheep, pig, or turkeys. He didn’t have much to say about the chickens or ducks. He did enjoy the company of 5 Japanese Chins. Jaden has a similar passion for toys and Flash was good about letting him run off with one of his toys. Of course in the meanwhile he raided Jaden’s stash of toys.
The bluebonnets were pretty much on time this year to coincide with the festival in Ennis. We watched the fields slowly start showing their colors and then all of a sudden pop with a wonderful display of flowers. Unfortunately we had to leave a couple days before some of the fields we were watching had their full display. As you can see from the pictures we did see some nice fields and were able to catch Flash for a moment not in

We’ve settled back into life in Michigan and are watching spring unfold for a second time. Flash was on the road longer than he had been at home. He was happy on the road and with each new adventure but he was also happy to see his own yard and his neighborhood buddies. Not all of his toys went traveling with us and he was glad to play with the ones that stayed home. He’s actually just a happy guy with a lot to say.

Glad to see your new family member. What great pictures. Makes us sorry we sold our rig.
