<pre style="border: 1px solid #cccccc; padding: 5px; background: none repeat scroll 0% #f5f5f5;">For many years I have dreamed of the hillsides of Tuscany.
Each movie I have watched showing the beautiful hillsides full of grapevines..........made me yearn for a trip.
So I and two other friends are going Sept. 2013. I think of us sorta like the TV show I have seen 'Grannies on Safari'.
We are all 3 grandmothers but don't consider ourselves old (or at least we are fighting it kickin' and screamin'😉
It is hoped this trip will be enlightening, relaxing, and an amazing experience. We are researching with Rick Steves
for some of his ideas and talking to others that have been.</pre>

So many things to look forward to- Rome, Cinque Terre, Florence.
Of course we shall be awed by the age old treasures to be viewed but also want to experience some things that are more like what the people that live there do. I want to FEEL Italy. Sip some wine, eat some pasta, bread, olive oil, cheese. (and hope by the time I come home I can still find something that fits)

You know so much of a trip is about the planning, when to go, what to do, what to eat, what to pack. So for the past couple months I spend an evening here and there searching the internet for just the perfect things I want to experience. I discovered this lovely little app for my phone called Evernote. I can make great little folders in which to put notes about anything, grocery lists, to do lists etc. But the ones that stir my emotions are the ones that say- Italy, Florence, Rome. In there are tantilizing little notes about restrauants, quaint neighborhoods and gelato.
So I guess I am blogging before the actual trip. I don't know if that is how it is done but well it is here.
So if anyone that reads this has any tips feel free to comment. To be continued............
