Saturday I set up an appointment and looked at two apartments, and I was good with either. They were set up nice and included everything. Everything. All utilities, furniture, appliances... even a full set of kitchen knives! They said with a one year contract, they would even replace my bed if I didn't like it. The second apartment's layout was a bit more homey so that was the one I went with. They sent me my contract and now it is up to my company to get this to move forward. I truly hope to get out of this crap hotel by the end of the week!

Keep your fingers crossed for me!

I came back to my hotel, took a nap and had some crazy dreams....

Then I headed out with my coworkers who'd just arrived from america for a project. We went to the souck, which I hadn't been to in about two months. I really should go more often. It's crazy busy (which I usually detest), but it has a good feel to it. We ate at the Malaysian place and chatted about work. Then we wandered about the souk and visited an antiques shop (super cool!) and the pet market, where I really just wanted to free all the poor animals, especially the full grown cats in tiny cages. They had some adorable puppies too and I had to walk away immediately before I was tempted... There was also some arabic music going on with some individual stations where I believe they were serving up special foods on small grills. It looked and smelled delicious (actually the smells in some places were dreadful! - septic systems... yuck!). It's just really hard to park and drive there, so I take a cab. But I'll have to go more often.

Cool apartments!
Thanks for the pictures, buttercup. The apartments look awesome. Great place to hold a poker tournament. And thanks for sharing pictures of the shopping area. I bet the people watching is great. Hope all is well. You are still missed at the VPT and the TPT.
