Thailand: Sukhothai and then Mae Sot (The border of Burma and Thailand)

From Ayutthaya we took a 5 hour train journey north to the city of Sukhothai, which is spilt into the new city and the old city. We stayed in the new city and caught a tuk tuk at 7 a.m to the old city to beat the happy snappers to the spectacular views of the national park and temples.

To get around the park we hired a push bike (check the pics man!) and rode around stopping off at each area of the park to get some great shots of the the different Buddha statues, I even found a new effect on le camera for taking some black and white mix shots, take a look 😊

From Sukhothai we took a mini bus at 120km an hour!!! through the mountains of Thailand toward Mae Sot. Once we had arrived there, just about in one piece!! we headed out looking for the husstle and busstle of the trade markets, that is a mixture of cultures (Chinese, Burmese, Thai and Indian) all trading their goods. At first we were a bit dissapointed because we got to the border and there was a market selling expensive crap and a few guys trying to sell fags through barbed wire!! after spending hours walking through what felt like the desert we managed to wave down a bike and the 3 of us headed back into town...

Whilst looking for some new boots!!!!! we came across exactly what we were looking for, which was the husstle and busstle of a massive market boasting all the goods from each different country. We only spent one night in Mae Sot and have just landed in Lampang for a couple of days. Tomorrow we off to see some Elephants and then we are off to Chang Mai, see ya then 😊
