View from the upstairs of our hut. Living in paradise - no big deal
The full moon party took it out of me a bit so a few days chilling on a beach were much needed; we headed to Than Sadet on the east coast of Ko Pha Ngan - it was lush! Two days in a 2 storey hut on a hill by the beach, jealous much?!

Next stop was Ko Tao to learn to dive; we came on the 4th and still here now on the 9th - its that good. We arrived at Big Blue Diving Resort and signed up for the Open Water Diving where you learn the basics and can then go down to 18m, accomodation is included with the course unfortunately its the busiest time of year and they only had 2 beds in a dorm room.

Dorm rooms were one of the things I wasn't too keen on with this whole travelling business but this isn't too bad, everyone is learning to dive too and the waits for the shitter aren't too long however theres no sides on the top bunk which means I'm sleeping like a mummy as I'm terrified I'll fall to my doom at night.

Open Water is 3 days with 4

This is for you Dewi. Thanks for the present - I looked an idiot taking this photo :)
dives so not too hectic but you can't drink and dive so I've been a very sober Beth this week 😞 Straight after we completed that course we both signed up for the Advanced 2 day course although only after Cecilia insisted on us gettin free t-shirts or we wouldn't do it - I knew I kept her around for a reason!

The advanced is 5 days and the dives we did were

- Navigation - getting lost and finding the boat again

- Buoyancy - learning not to bob up and down like a loon

- Deep dive - going down to 30m and getting 'narced' which is nitrogen narcosis where you feel a bit drunk and do stupid shit but I didn't feel it - bummer!

- Wreck dive - big navy ship sunk as a artificial reef I saw a Moray Eel and a Barracuda it was spooky stuff

- Night dive - my fave we swam down in twilight and then it got so dark all you could see was what you shined your torch on, saw some sting rays which was cool but the best bit was the fact the torch looks like a lightsaber underwater and I sounded like Darth Vader - everyone in my group now knows I'm a geek 😊

So now I am officially an Advanced Adventurer and I'm gonna dive wherever I can so I'll probs be home soon because I'll spend all my money

Last night on Ko Tao tonight - buckets aplenty and heading to Bangkok on the morrow.

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooo
Sounds fabbydabbydoo. How exciting to learn a new skill. I would be scared stiff of the eels, stingrays and barracuda but then I am a big strange. Glad you both having fun and seeing some of the world. Hope you got my previous email after your beach moon party. Keep safe Love Fiona xx

Fabulous
Well it certainly beats looking out of the window at this dreary weather. Sounds as if you are both having a wonderful time. I wonder how diving in the Solent will feel in comparison. Keep sending updates even if you are making all at home envious. x
