Everyone is up and ready to go by 8, it’s market day and Kirsten wants to get there first.
Wait a minute, I would like a little breakfast ok! Bea speaks up YEA! Ok, but don’t take all morning. Yea, Yea, Yea as Bea and I walk toward the dinning room. Kirsten follows us in, Oh that’s looks good.
Around 9, after a nice slow and enjoyable breakfast Kirsten is revving the engine. It’s a small engine however she is revving it. LOL.
Were pulling out I have one leg still hanging out of the car and Bea is trying to close her door. Ya’ll just need to eater faster.
We pull into Greve, Kirsten finds the market, yes her and Bea are out and gone before I can even get out of the car. Not to minimize Greve’s market but it looks like the last 99 that I’ve seen. I go and find the fresh fruit vendor and buy two apples, two peaches, 5 plums and two pears. He says tre euros, 3 euros, Si. I’m a big spender. Bea walks up with her mushroom cheese to go with whatever we have for lunch. We see
Kirsten coming up and frowning, I didn’t finding anything I wanted. Sorry!
We’re back in the car and heading toward San Gimignano, on our way we pass through Passignano in Chianti. Kirsten pulls in and says this is where the author of “To Much Tuscan Sun” lives. It’s an easy read of his tales as a tour guide through Tuscany.
After visiting the cathedral, were back on the road again. Sounds like a song. Fifteen KM later were in San Gimignano, along with lot’s of other people. We’re thinking there must be a festival somewhere. Well we didn’t find the festival, but as we came into the Domo Plaza a wedding was going on. We stayed and watched; it was very nice. Bea finds the Pork man behind the Cathedral and we get 2 large sandwiches, hmm hmm good.
At the Chianti festival Kirsten finds the vineyard that supplies Olive Garden. She chats with the guys behind the booth and determines their vineyard is just over that hill. Well that sound easy but there are 100’s of hills. We drive up and down back and forth and we don’t see it anywhere. After blowing past hundreds of
vineyards I see one. I yell stop! let’s check this one out. Kirsten throws into reverse and backs up. It looks closed but we’ll try anyway. We drive up a long gravel driveway and pull into a beautiful courtyard. I step out of the car and I look up and I see Oma waving. I ask if they are open and she says Momento as she holds up a finger. A moment latter a young lady comes out on the balcony and greets us. I ask if they are open and she responds our home is always open. Soon Simona, Oma and Opa take us on a tour of their estate. It was the most pleasant tasting and tour we’ve had.
The vineyard we found is La Fibbiana, their WEB site is
WWW.LAFibbiana.it . Check it out very nice and they have apartments for rent. I’m thinking some day we’ll be back
We pile back into the car and wave as we leave. We vonder back to Greve, Kirsten & Bea had a great time and talked about the estate all the way back to Greve.
As we arrive in Greve everyone is hungry, I suggest pizza
and Kirsten & Bea agree. Kirsten remembers a little pizza restaurant at the end of the piazza. We sample our way to the restaurant, Kirsten goes in and orders while Bea and I sit on the steps. Kirsten returns with a huge pizza, full of cheeses, mushrooms and all kids of meats. It was delicious down to the last bite. Burp!
We decide we’re sampled out and head back to our room for and enjoyable evening in the courtyard.

Ok I'm jealous
When are you guys going to invite me on one of these trips already? I can get up early. I can get ready quickly. I love to do all the things that you all do - I love to see cows, I love the markets, I love to eat, I especially love to sample wine, and I'm absolutely fine with going wherever Kirsten decides to turn and finding a place to sleep when we get there. I could be the 3rd wife. Or we could pretend that bea and I are a couple. I don't care I just want to come on one of these trips dammit. I have been to San G with my sister. I was wanting a market and when we got up in the morning there was one right in front of our hotel. And I know Gabbiano wine you can get their chianti at publix it is pretty good. And finally, it is "under the Tuscan sun"
