Well, yesterday I made the long trip over to Rome. I left San Diego early in the morning, and landed in Chicago. In Chicago while waiting for my flight to Rome, I ended up meeting and talking to a student that was coming from LMU as well, and another girl who I actually went to high school with! They are all at my same school and we have spent a lot of time together. It was a great coincidence that we met up. After landing in Rome, we were taken directly to school where they had many different steps for us to take to sign in. My room is pretty small with a bunk bed and a small closet, but it will be fine for the time here. My main adventure yesterday was venturing out alone on the bus to get an Italian cell phone. The buses in Italy don't announce stops and if you don't push the button to get off, they won't stop at the stops. So I really had to ask around and make sure I knew where I was going. Of course, I missed my stop and had to back track, but I ended up figuring it out. Later that night, I went out with some friends to the area near the Vatican. All being extremely jet-lagged, we just decided to walk around a little and get some gelato before heading home to rest. Today I am very rested, and they have an entire day of orientation activities planned for us. Later tonight though, I need to venture out to a department store to buy some towels and other things for my room...... Wish me luck! Ciao
