After a free hotel breakfast of mystery food, I met up with Mi ting ting and started visiting the typical Hohhot tourist traps, including the old gov't palace, buddhist temples and inner mongolian museum. All very interesting though truly boring and I was finished by 11am. finding things to do in this city for 12 hours before my train left was killer. It included getting accupuncture out o boredom while being interogated by something that looked like gollum except in winnie the pooh pijamas, sitting at a gamer den for two hours surfing the net. Visiting another pagoda/budhist thing and walking down the muslim coridor helped me waste most of the day though I would have much more enjoyed taking a tour of the grasslands. Aroung 8pm I picked up my bagage from the hotel and sat at the train station readin fight club and avoiding the three other tourists. All in all, avoid this city if you can

KFC
I remember seeing my first KFC in Japan in 1972 with a life size, plastic, Col. Sanders outside.
