14 hour plane journey, humming birds and gringos

Hi everyone!

So after an emotional bye at the airport and getting teary on the plane because I couldn't swap flights I then realised it was a 14 hour flight! So a couple of awful hours of sleep and three films later I arrived at Santiago airport in chillie. Then had to get a taxi on my own to the hotel. I was terrified and got teary again because I couldn't find anyone at the hotel who was doing the same as me. However after a minute they introduced themselves and asked if I was Emma on the trip. After that they took me around the citylee went to local markets food places and finally walked up a massive hill with amazing views!

While climbing up the hill we meet some more locals - humming birds! Amazing never seen them before and one posed for a picture ! I also learnt that they call us travellers gringos!

However the most important thing I learnt to day is a smile translates into every language. I would like to say a thank you to the Spanish lady wo didn't speak a word of english that sat next to me on the plane and looked after me the entire flight and looked out for me.

Me being me also found out the hard way it's cold ! 16degrees so hoodies and leggins but no shorts ! Anyway going to meet the rest of my tour tonight and have dinner with them
