So we did it.....we won the quad....it was not the most amazing feeling in the boat...but the crowd told us after that the commentator absolutely sung our praises on the way down the course.....which he failed to do for any other crew. Thats cool.

IT was not a really immediately celebrated experience as we had to go to the start straight away to compete in the double final that we had qualified for easily earlier in the day. On the way up......things started to go pear shaped. The attack I had in Denmark came again....this time way worse.....I am handing over the explanation of the event to my partner in the double.....Dr Verburg......

Well, she went from coughing to exasperatingly trying to get some air in before the next coughing session and back to coughing again. It didn't seem to stop so I waved in the rescue boat that was already looking a bit worried at Rayne. Got her out on the shore and the ambulance people came by. This time not three - only one, and the gp had already gone home after a rather uneventfull two days at the regatta course...Luckily after a while the coughing calmed

Somewhere there we are KICKING ASS
down a bit, and with a little help of two oxygen bottles we managed to keep Rayne alive. The frog in her throat remained however, so we went to test the emergency department of the semi-local hospital (in Reading)....over to Rayne..

Thanks doc......needless to say....I was pretty freaked out and clearly I need to investigate this further when I get back on Aussie soil....asit turned out i was going to have to wait some 3 hours to even get looked at.....screw it....lets go get a beer.....

So we are in greece now....athens central......and we managed to get around and look at the ruins (all surrounded in scaffolding)......we already got completely overcharged by the cabbie by 15Euros on the way in....so lets hope this does not turn into a very expensive island hopping experience. Off to Mykonos tomorrow......

Enjoy the photos
