Well two entries in two hours might seem a bit excessive but there´s yet more to tell.

So as soon as we left the internet café the last time I went to a payphone to call my relatives, Linda and Ewan, who live in Buenos Aires. Since we are headed to the city tonight I thought I´d call to let them know we were coming to Buenos Aires and see about a visit or whatever. While I was talking to Linda, some guy walks around me, DROPS A SET OF KEYS and then goes to the phone booth next to me and starts fiddling with it, not taking his eyes off the two of us. Jacqueline started freaking out and I had to hang up on poor Linda because we were being robbed again. We just started screaming and shouting and running away. They never got anything thank GOD and we headed straight to the next restaurant even though we were NOT hungry. So we ordered some pepsis and sat there for 2 hours, too paranoid to leave. We managed to talk to this nice American man which really calmed us down. Then our British friends from rafting came for some lunch and sat next to us which was good too.

We thought about going to the police but we know there is no way I am going to get anything from my bag back. Also we have no Spanish which makes it hard to talk to people. While we were at the restaurant, the American guy (who spoke Spanish) was telling the restuarant manager what happened to us and he was saying it is very common for people to get robbed like we were, in broad daylight. The police all take off between 2 and 5 in the afternoon for their siesta, leaving the streets ripe for the picking for all the crooks. The manager said he has called the police, the newspaper, the mayor but no one seems too concerned about doing anything about it. We thought Mendoza was an OK city but now I have vowed to never return. We are just trying to pass the time until our bus leaves at 830... Hopefully things will get better from here on out!!

That´s all for now. We´re doing OK and are trying our hardest not to let this bad luck ruin our trip which otehrwise has been EXCELLENT.
