Sunrise at Wellington
This was taken when we were on the ferry on the way to the South Island What an amazing time we have had in New Zealand. Its been fantastic!
We've finished our travels of the South Island (already!) and make our way back up to Auckland tomorrow. Its gone so quick!
I thought the North Island was beautiful but the South Island is even better. It really is amazing.
We're so glad we decided to do the Kiwi Experience. We've made some really good mates and we've done and seen so much. Again, I dont know where to start!
Highlights:
* Fancydress Party - the theme was The World Cup. I was one of the 3 lions and Phil was a steward. It was an excellent night but ended on a downer when when Rooney got sent off and we were out of the World Cup. Apart from that it was great!
* Visiting the Seal Colony - We've seen so much Wildlife now. Animals I thought Id never see outside a zoo!
* Snowboarding - We did this yesterday and had a really good day. Although, we were both the dummies of the class and couldnt do it! Phil eventually got the hang of it but not me. Its definitely
Nelson
The mirror image of the mountains in the lake looked really good. not a good sport for me! I found it so difficult. I fell over on every attempt!! It was a fab day though - a good experience.
* The Biggest Canyon Swing In The World!(109m high, 60m free fall, 200m arc!) - I still cant believe I did it. Initially I decided I wasnt go to do it so we paid for Phil and I paid to watch but when I got there it didnt look that bad. How could I jump out of a plane and not be able to do this!? and the fact that my little sister could do it and I couldnt was really bugging me!! so, I talked myself into and went for it and actually it was great! I really enjoyed it. Surely I must be over my height phobia now!? Phil said he nearly chickened out after he looked over the edge but he did it and really enjoyed it too. The only thing left now is a bungy jump (no thank you!)
* Nights out/Mates - we have had some great nights out with everyone. Its always a good laugh. We've met some great people who we have been on
Nelson
It was beatiful here as you can see the same bus with for 2 weeks so we really know each other now. I cant believe we leave them all tomorrow. Seems very strange tp be leaving them and moving on. The only good thing about leaving them all is that we will be saving some money by not going out everynight!!
*Clame to fame! - havent seen anyone that famous on my travels (yet!) but I have met and had my photo taken with Boyde from Neighbours!
All in all, New Zealand has been fab. We've really, really enjoyed it. It has been brilliant. Just seems to have gone so fast. New Zealand itself is lovely, so beautiful its unreal. I can see why people want to live here. I would say its even prettier than Australia. The weather here is freezing but its really worked out well because its given us the chance to do snowboarding (on real snow!) and see different things. It would have been a shame if all our photos were of beaches. And even though it has been cold we've had really good weather. We've had blue skys nearly everyday and the sun has been out too so its not a
horrible, cold, wet English winter!
We leave New Zealand next Sunday so we still have a week left here. We're mainly just travelling back up North whwre we catch our next flight so Im not sure what else we'll be doing and seeing - its a surpise everyday!
4 weeks and we'll be heading home! 4 weeks left of no work, no worries and plenty of fun and then its back to reality -noooooo! It would be nice to have this life style at home with all our family and friends - you never know, one day we might win the lottery!!! (some how I doubt it!)
