More for Gotcha day
Still not to sure about all this. Well here it is the first night with our 2 new additions and everyone is sleeping peacefully. Sha Sha does have a bit of a chest cold so I can hear her over the rest of sleepers. The Nannies gave us her prescriptions that the doctor gave her. I have no idea what they are since the little paper package is all in Chinese except the part about dosage. 1 pill, 3 times a day and 1 ½ pill, 3 times a day.
So glad she's sleeping, was a bit concerned yesterday when she started crying so hard that we were going to have a really long sleepless night but nothing even close to that happened. We did finally have to chase Jasmine and Rose away so she could go to sleep. They wanted us to move over to the other bed so they could all sleep together. We didn't swap with them though since Rose is sleeping next to the wall that she can use to help her find the bathroom. She does have a problem with low-level light and being able to see. We do have 2 night lights on but it's still hard for her.
Yesterday,
Interting
This was hanging in the main room where all the family's were. Jasmine thought in was interesting so she took a snapshot of it. while we were counting down the hours we asked Maggie (on of the 3 CCAI reps here) if there was some place we could get Rose some more pants. Here we go again, bringing cloths to small for our daughter. She told us about a place right down the street. Of course that involved how to get across 6 lanes of traffic in a place where there isn't pedestrian right of way. We did finally find the tunnel that you can take to get from one side to the other. But that was only after we walked a few more blocks down a side street that we could do the frogger run across. Interesting place, sort like a clothing flea market. They had lots of baby stuff but we did find some girls clothes. I thought Jenny was going to get into a fight with one of the women that worked there over the right size. The woman insisted that we wanted the jeans tight and hip hugger style, she even pulled her shirt up to show Jenny that's the “correct” way to wear jeans. Well that went over like a lead ballon with Jenny. That was the second clerk
Little Sister
Rose took this one we encountered. The first one was really nice and helpful, she started off with smaller stuff that would have been tight but quickly moved on to finding bigger stuff after we told her Rose needed bigger stuff. Any way, Rose has a couple pairs of pants now that aren't cutting into her belly at least until they get washed the first time. As long as she has something to wear that's comfortable it'll keep her until we can get home and they can go shopping for the right sizes.
So life likes to keep it interesting. As if trying to communicate with Rose only speaking Mandarin, and the different dialect she speaks. Nanchang people love to use the 4
th tone a lot, which makes it sound like they are shouting or mad all the time. Sha Sha (she'll be Lilly this afternoon) speaks Cantonese. If you've never heard the difference it's a lot! At least she does understand some Mandarin so we do have a little bit of a link there. Rose is already translating for her since she's been with us a week now and has learned some English and how to use sign language with us on
words she doesn't know yet.
More about Rose yesterday.
When she started retreating yesterday and then crying I was really worried she wasn't understanding what all was going on. I'm sure that's very true but was concerned the bit of a bond we've had was going to get lost with yesterdays event. However, when we got back she was back to laughing, doing things to get you smile, hugging and such. Before we went to bed, while trying to get the girls to settle down she was laying with her head on my belly watching TV so my concern was short lived, thankfully.
One of the things we did get to ask Sha Sha's nannies was what kinds of food does she like, answer “she eats anything”. They did pack some of her favorite snacks, apples and banana's were in there so glad to see she likes fruit, but they also said she likes candy. Seems having a sweet tooth her is spreading since Rose definitely has one also. So last night we put the “eats anything” to the test. While we were waiting for a food she gnawed though a hard dinner roll (not sure how any of the girls ate those things, hard as a rock), then proceeded to go through a large helping of linguine with Alfredo sauce. Found out we have another french fry/ketchup lover. Wish I had taken my camera, you should have seen her holding up one fry in each hand and grinning ear to ear. She also had some bacon (from Jenny's club sandwich) which she proceeded to make gone also. One thing I did notice, she eats like my dad......slow. We do have some interesting eating styles now. Jasmine wants to talk the whole time, Rose goes right to making her plate empty and Sha Sha chewing everything 1000 times before she swallows it. One great thing from last night, it was the first time Rose has left something on her plate and let us know she was done. We've been thinking part of all her eating is the stress of all this so maybe she's getting a little bit more comfortable now. Hope so because she's been eating way to much, thus the reason we're having to go find bigger clothes.
Today we go do more paperwork, joy joy. I was sure glad to get yesterdays paperwork behind us because we got to get rid of a lot of this cash we had to bring for different fees/donations. In Nanchang we were able to wire the money ahead, this time we had to convert dollars to RMB, right now the exchange rate is about 6.2 RMB for each dollar. I've never had such stack of bills in my life that we had to take with us yesterday. Talk about nervous!!!
Hope I haven't bored everyone to death that's keeping up with our travels, I do tend to ramble.

Yeah!!!!
I am so glad that things are going so well. I have been thinking about you all and praying that everything will go smooth for you all. Your family and the girls are so fortunate to find each other.
