Man, wish I owned this.
So here I am, at the end of my first day at my home stay family. I’d like to blurt out everything I want to say in one syllable as I usually like to when writing my entries, which turn out to be incoherent sentences, but I’d like to take my time on this memorable experience.

I’ll start on the two little kids. When I first came to the apartment and rang the door bell, I was greeted by a little nine yr old boy who didn’t seem a touch bit shy. He, Shee-oo, was the only one there at the time, and he was all too kind of a host. He knows English quite well, especially for a nine yr old who learns off tapes! I was quite astonished overall of his demeanor and I’m sure I’ll enjoy my time here with him. Then there is the girl, Yu-mi. Maybe it’s just little Korean girls, but she showed this “Oh my god, I’m shaking a rock star’s hand!” giddy look on her face (as did two other girls I was introduced to a week ago). I’m... I’m still wondering why... she LOVES to laugh and do funny weird stuff.

Start of the collection "panorama"
She can’t speak English, as she is only six, but a great big smile is all the language we will need with each other 😊 While a brief description, I’m still trying to figure out these kids.

The emo (auntie or aunt-like) didn’t talk a whole lot, so I couldn’t figure out too much about her today. She did make a most excellent curry dish, though she commented when eating it herself that it was bad... I wondered what good was supposed to be like then. I can’t wait ^_^ Anyways, I hope to getting to know her better someday (maybe when I can speak some basic Korean) and tasting more yummy dishes 😊

Then there is sam-chon... I think that’s how you say uncle-ish? Anyways, to describe his love for music would essentially be Achi times 20. I mean Achi, he’s got a Huge love for music, with those surround sound speakers and all types of music cd’s and vinyls, but then there’s sam-chon... Ahh, why do I keep on using these titles. Jin-jeol? I think that’s his name... .err... I’ll just use his American name, Sean. Anyways, right, Sean has ... My... I’ll get a picture up if one isn’t already shown yet. It is just... I mean most hardcore music piraters wouldn’t have anything close to the amount of music he has. 100-300+ gigs of music? (it’s so hard to guess how much!) I think that would sum up Sean’s collection in the form of cd’s and vinyls. Just look at those pictures.... Since Sean had such a huge love for music, I introduced him to two bands and two songs he hadn’t heard of; my #1 favorite band, Motion City Soundtrack, Less Than Jake, this song by Robert Randolph and another song, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots (I just had to mention that to him). Besides that, me and him would browse his collection and he would usually pick a cd and we’d listen to one of two songs on the cd, find another cd, listen more, rinse and repeat. I must’ve listened to at least 30 cd’s in there, and I can just imagine my free time locked up in that room listening to all of Ray Charles again or whatever I can get my hands on.

I was a bit nervous to meeting my home stay family, but I feel so fortunate to have them as mine now 😊
