Hmmm...
Let's check this out veeerrrrrry carefully... This is Lindz. Looks like the folks'll be busting out their yellow roses soon. We left Columbia, SC this morning at about 9 A.M. Eastern Time. Had a good ride on I-20 through SC and into Georgia. I think it was in Augusta, GA that we decided to stop for breakfast at Denny's. Any Denny's we've ever been to has been a good experience - but this was the exception!! It wasn't as large a place as the Denny's we have known. Some of the wait staff didn't show up for work because they called in sick. So 3 waitresses were handling all the customers and they were in a panic. We decided to sit at the counter. Had to wait a few minutes before we were noticed and served our coffee. Then after a while the waitress came back to take our orders - eggs, sausage, muffin, hash browns - nothing to difficult to throw on a plate and get it to us. In the meantime, the Health Inspector came in
to look the place over. Then real PANIC set in. One of the waitresses said to him "go easy on us because we're shorthanded today". He said he wasn't concerned with the wait staff, he wanted to see the kitchen and the rest of whatever is back there. I don't know what the inspector found there but he seemed to be doing a thorough job. We were still waiting for our food. It never came!!!!! We decided to leave. Dad told the waitress we couldn't wait any longer and had to leave. She apologized. Don't know what happened to our order. Maybe somebody lost it in their panic!!! We went next door to Dunkin' Donuts.

Loud and Clear
Can you hear me now??? tall cell phone and broadcast towers. One thing that really struck me was driving along listening to the radio stations broadcasting religious music and Christian messages while, at the same time, passing the roadside advertisements for "adult" entertainment and materials. I guess the two worlds of religion and porn exist side-by-side, where each one benefits the other, in a sort of symbiotic relationship. Oh, the irony!! OK. Now back to Lois. ]
A few interesting things along the way:
I saw a street sign for Snapfinger Road. Never heard of that one before.
Driving past the Atlanta airport, there's lots sof traffic. It's a very busy place. Up ahead we saw
He's Worse than Santa
Cripes, you just can't get away from this guy! Between him and Tebow... what looked like an overpass over the road we were on. On this "overpass" was a huge plane slowly taxiing on what had to be part of one of the runways. That was scary!!!!!
The weather wasn't the greatest for driving. It's been raining on and off all day. We had to stop once to adjust one of the windshield wipers. It's okay now.
Somewhere along the way we drove into the Central Time Zone, so we're now an hour behind the East coast.
So we headed toward Mobile, Alabama. We were getting hungry and tired so we stopped in a town called Saraland, Alabama - maybe 10 miles before Mobile. We checked
Snap it, Pal.
Kathy will know what that means. in at a Hampton Inn - very nice place. Ruby Tuesday's is nearby so we had a good dinner there and are now vegging out in our room. Early to bed tonight!!!!
Tomorrow's weather calls for some showers between here and Austin. We hope to be in Austin tomorrow evening.
Will keep in touch.Love to all.

In Arkansas you can stop at Toad Suck Ferry National Park to begin to round out your southern education. YA ALL!
