Today we took the local bus out to the Penang National Park. For once, it was free to enter!! We chose that we were going to try to walk to the light house. We set off on our way and stopped for many photo opportunities. Tris is getting very good with the camera settings and taking photos. He took some beautiful shots today. Walking along we got to see lots of flora, fauna, the ocean, and insects. When we arrived at a beach front we spotted a bearded dragon like creature (but not a bearded dragon) and he sat there posing for the camera for a good while. We stopped here dripping with sweat and ready for a break. Tris went around taking photos, while Mom and I rested and ate some cookies. We decided that we didn’t want to hike any further and that we’d head back. On the way back we saw more lizards, and then spotted some MONKEYS! They were black, and had white rings around their eyes. They were swinging from branch to branch, and playing on the power line. When we reached the entrance to the park we rewarded ourselves with a cold Revive (electrolyte drink) and waited for the local bus (which by the way are nicer than the city transit back home) to take us to Tesco (like Superstore, but with a mini mall attached to it). We grabbed a bite to eat at McDonalds then picked up a few things for the drive to Perhentian Islands tomorrow.
