All by myself

Well this morning Hazel and Pete were leaving to travel to Lithuania, so it was a sad farewell at 10am : (
However I'm sure we will keep intouch, it really was great hanging out together these last 4 days.
I'm off to Moscow tonight so I'm all packed and ready. I'm off to see Swan Lake tonight, managed to get a last minute ticket from a local ticket shop, so I'm looking forward to that.

So I trotted off to the Hermitage after a late breakfast, well I say trotted off, limped would be a more accurate account, I have a blister on the ball of my right foot that is a real pain, padding has been applied and improves it, but its still sore. This with my mozzie bites on my arm that are now huge, and leaking, are covered with a see through plaster makes me look quite delightful I'm sure !!!!

Anyway The Hermitage is rather large ....... it has 350 rooms, over 3 million items, if you walked all the rooms it would be 10km's, and if you glanced at every item it would take you nine years aparently !!!
So I went, I saw lots of beautiful paintings, sculptures and photos from lots of famous people. The queue again was god knows how long but this time I bought my ticket on line so walked straight in, well I say straight in, you have to visit 2 other desks, go backward and forwards to the same woman twice and show your passport and ONLY THEN do you get your proper ticket !!

I stayed for about 2 hours, and was all cultured out by then, and looking at the faces of many of the people walking around they felt the same. The place is juts toooo big.
So I've come back to the hostel to recharge my camera battery and write my blog ...... off for a cuppa now
Hope the ballet tonight is good. I'll tell you when I'm in Moscow.

Well hello my lovely, just been catching up with ALL your activites!! You are gonna be knackered by the time you get home!. Sounds like you are very well" cultured " now ( not that you wasnt before!! ) I am most impressed with your blogging!! Think i can sense a book coming along... I'll be your agent! News from my end includes new car!! not sure if you were aware of this before you went, but shall be picking up my hyndai santa fe later!! Birthday weekend - not sure what im doing yet tho!, think Rob is planning on meal on sat night but have tried to keep my nose out of organising it ( which has been very difficult as you can imagine!! ) No doubt will involve large amounts of alcohol!! Must go and do some work now - boo!!!!! keep on blogging!!! Miss you xxxx
