We visited El Condor from Viedma - home to the largest colony of parrots in the world - what a find! (everything in the town was closed for winter and we had 3 hours to kill before the bus back to Viedma!) thank goodness for the parrots!!

We embarked on our next part of the journey South on Tuesday. The coach was an hour late but nobody seemed concerned about it! We were on the top deck this time with only half reclining seats - thought we could watch the scenery but for most of the journey it was just a straight road, across boring, flat, arid landscape! Mind you, it helped that I'd taken a Nytol instead of a Kwell and dozed for most of the journey!!

We were met by staff from the Hostel who provided a free transit to the hostel (which was much welcomed!!) Hostel is nice, clean and central (two blocks from the sea front) so we may stay 4 nights!! We booked on a tour of Peninsular Valdes, a National Park.

We were collected in a mini bus at 7.30am by Eloy and Juan and collected an American Couple at a hotel round the corner who joined us for the day. The sun was just rising and it looked like it was going to be a beautiful day - it was!!!

Apart from the fact that most of the journey was on gravel tracks, it was great! The trip cost us £30 each + £11 entrance fee each) and was worth it. We were out until 5.30pm and kept stopping at different locations to see wildlife; 4 Southern White Whales, elephant seals, seals, sea lions (called sea wolves in SA), wolves, armadillos, guanachos (wild llamas!), Patagonian Cavy (third largest rodent in the world), Southern Giant Petrel , assorted Eagles and rheas (like Ostritch). We were sure we saw a solitary penguin, but Eloy pointed out it was a white Royal Cormorant.

I even got sunburnt!!

We are cooking pasta for supper (our 4th home cooked meal and the third time we've had pasta! nice and easy although we even managed a pizza last night - bought base!

We have to avoid travelling on Saturday (the few of you that are Manchester City fans will understand why........) but still deciding our next stop South.

May seem strange to those of you who are working hard every day, but we've also agreed that we need to factor in some "chilling out" time as it does feel a bit like we've been rushing from one place to the next............

in the meantime, guess where we swapped over editing the photos.......
