OK, after getting up at 6 this morning to catch the bus. I made it to the bus station with 15 minutes to spare. I managed to get on the bus after paying a 4 euro transaction fee for using my pass.

I arrived in Prague to find it wet and cold and miserable. Oh well. I fell in love with this city immediately. Beautiful architecture.

I didn't get out till about 3ish. I tried to have a sit down meal in a recommended restaurant but they were full. I had a chicken ceaser salad bagel instead. Not quite as exciting. I then went for a wander with the intention of getting a feel for the city. At every corner there is beautiful architecture, a lot of it baroque. Charles bridge is one of the city's most famous landmarks. Very very touristy but loads of nice statues on it. I tried to go some of the many Jewish synagogues that scatter the city but they are all closed today and tomorrow due to Jewish holidays.

Whilst wondering around I stumbled across a massive Easter market in the old town square. Whilst there I had some potatoes with ham and cheese. Proper artery clogging Czech food. Very nice. I watched some random live Czech music at the Easter market for a bit then came back to the hostel where I am now.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm running late for a beer tasting.

See you tomorrow

back on the internet
Hi love I couldn't work out how to see the blog late last night (after we'd finally finished working out & ordering the Olympic tickets) but Kate reminded me how before she went to school this morning. I'm really glad you like Prague & hope you feel you've got long enough to see it. You can always go back to any of the places you're visiting now & spend longer of course. You could treat this as a taster for more travelling in years to come. Saw your facebook posting about your sore head so presume beer was plentiful last night. Hope you have a good day wondering around. I'll read all the blogs I've missed later love you, Mum (can other people see comments - don't want to be too soppy if that's the case!)
