Tourist heaven. No need to even mention why!
Well Hawaii, What can I say? Looking around this magnificent land I am quite simply overwhelmed! On one side the well documented, booming, tourist trade - bubbly, extreme, ALL American tropical paradise and on the other, a georgeous polynesian culture fighting and fighting well to keep from completely assimilating into the mega power that is americanisation...

I suppose it is probably appropriate to mention that this trip was specifcially an O'ahu experience, apologies for the genralisations to anybody who has delved somewhat deeper into the other islands and accompanying culture. Shamelessly enough though, I certainly soaked up my fair quota of tourist life while here, how couldn't you?!

As luck would have it however, I did also have the absolute pleasure of being given a little snippet of inside island life due to my wonderful island hosts Kelila and Judah, who managed to mix the language and the locals into my whirlwind five day tour... Yes thanks to them I did make it past the end of Waikiki.

Of particular note has to be the north shore whose desperately local surf twons carry on the tradition that is Hawaii personified, love it!

Anyways, Hawaii you ask? should

I? where go? well....
Go North Shore! Go Matsumoto Shave Ice! Go Magoo's you dirty, dirty student pub (but cheap beer!), go the b-e-a utiful beaches! Go Pipe!! Go the East coast for swimming! Oh yeahh... It is the best place, loved it, never forget it, hopefully my lei will reach the shore and I will return!

Mahalo Nui Loa to Kelila and Judah. Hosts like never before. Wow!~ Mahalo to Mara for sorting it all out!

Until next time.

Ahh, Hawaii
Even though I wasn't there to show you around myself, it sounds like you had a wicked time with the greatest hosts in history (they REALLY are!). Man, I miss it all... even dirty old Magoos (SO glad you made it there as well - talk about getting the full tour)! Thanks for making me jealous ;) Hoping to see you in California for some legendary Tahoe powder days and good times in December/January!
