They were all over the place and ranged from 2" to about 7-8".
We had a great dinner and visit with Sara's mom, Christina and her boyfriend, Bill. We were supposed to barbeque, but it was so windy and nasty out that we decided to go the the Miner's Camp restaurant a couple miles away. It was a pretty good dinner, but what made the night was the company! We really enjoyed our time with them and wish we had been able to spend more time together. Maybe next time! We will probably spend more time in Apache Junction next time we come to AZ because there is way more to do here than there is in Parker. Don't know how the weather will compare though, so we'll have to keep our eye on it.
We have done our first hike this year and have realized how much we missed it! We are in Apache Juntion staying at Shiprock RV Resort (boy am I spoiled!) and went up to the Lost Dutchman State park to do a little 2.5 mile loop. Bob wants to break in slowly, so we are just basically preparing for Sedona and the real hiking we want to do there. Allie was thrilled because we didn't put the packs on

This was on the way back down. I love my hat with the flap on the back to save my neck from sun damage.... it's gray cammo. Zips off and everything. Bob got me a blue cammo hat too - to go with Percy!
her. She will have them on our next hike which should be Monday. It rained here yesterday so the ground is going to be on the mushy side for a couple of days. It should be dried out by then.
Picked up a new camera at Costco the other day. It's a small Nikon that will be much more convenient to take on our hikes and other trips. The Olympus we have had for several years has been acting up quite frequently (error screens, deleting pictures, taking pics over existing ones...) so we figured we would have to replace it soon enough anyway. Hopefully this one will do the trick for us and last a while.
So, on Wednesday we will be heading for Sedona (it snowed there yesterday....) to do some more serious hiking. We're hoping to boondock on the National Forest Land where we stayed last year (without the no-see-ems). We'll try it for a week or so and then head home. We have to be home by the 30th for the Kettle River Water Users Assoc annual meeting. We'll see! Depends on how good the weather and hiking are in Sedona. More on that at a later

Allie spotted this little 2" lizard running across the trail. It was fairly cool out, so he wasn't moving very fast. We were able to get a bunch of pics, but the camera "lost" most of them!
date!

This is a beautiful hike and a little more challenging than we can handle at this point, but hopefully, before we leave.
