lots of luggage huh?
So our first flight gets cancelled due to AA's inability to repair the de-icing equipment (after getting delayed from 12:05 to 1:00). They locate/find a "spare" 777 for us. The new departure time is 2:00 they tell us...then 2:30.

At 2:30 they tell us they are going to load the plane BUT everyone has to be onboard and seated before 3:10 pm or the crew will go into overtime, which isn't allowed by the FFA. So if they can't get us boarded and away from the gate by 3:10 the flight will be delayed until they find another flight crew.

Everyone did great, we were all aboard and seated by 2:55 pm and thinking everything was cool. I kept waiting for them to pull away but 3:10 rolls around and we're still sitting. Finally at 3:30 pm they announce that the plane has a water leak and since they couldn't get it repaired by 3:10 we all have to exit the plane and wait for another flight crew. Then about 10 minutes later they tell everyone to stay on the plane. So we all sit back down and about 10 minutes later they tell us to get off the plane.

So we all get off the plane and commence waiting. Around 5:00 they start giving out food vouchers and about 6:00 they start handing out hotel vouchers and tell us the flight is cancelled and rescheduled for 10am tomorrow.

I didn't find out about the rescheduling though because I had went out of the secure section of the airport, down to a part of AA where they help stranded/delayed travelers and had them rebook us to fly though LA tomorrow, just in case. So after I got back and found out about the 10am flight, we had to go back and get the flight changed back again...:-)

So we're spending the night at a hotel just outside the airport, alarm set for 6am and hoping we can actually get out of the US tomorrow...wish us luck!!
