My first day on Corfu
Sorry it's been so long since I've updated, Mom please don't be worried! You do watch too much CSI! I am safe and sound and somewhat tanned.
I had a full day on the train from Roma to Brindisi, met a really cool girl on the train named Lauren and let me say that the deck seats on the ferry were not that bad, just little chairs. I had the place almost to myself, but not much sleep. I arrived at the Pink Palace in Corfu at 5:30am and it's been great. I"ve met tons of cool people and we've been hanging out on the beach all day. The first day we went on a 4-wheeler safari which was SO fun, we went all day all over the island, off roading to the highest points and through the little streets, past olive groves, grapes, and the biggest lemons I've ever seen. That first night there was a Toga party too and we got super creative with ours. There was plate smashing, greek dancing, and Ouzo, a ring of fire and I have bruises I cannot account for. We even played circle drinking games that involved dancing, and I was told I was a big of a rockstar about it. Sounds like me!

Tonight I'm leaving though, sadly, but I'll be in Athens so Leslie watch out I'm coming your way early in the morning! Hopefully once I"m there I'll be able to upload my photos and you can all see the things I've been talking about. If anyone wants postcards, email me your address and I"ll try and get'm off!
Mom please don't worry, I will call you soon. Keep up the comments everyone, and be jealous of my wonderful tan!

Finally!
Yah, Andrea. Glad to hear from you. I wasn't sure what country you were in or where exactly. I thought you might have gone to Pompeii, but it appears that you went right to the ferry on Friday. Keep in touch. We love hearing from you! Mom

You Stole my trip!
Hey andrea, I so totally know what that ferry ride is like because I slept on it, to and from greece on my trip through Europe and the Pink Palace on Corfu- I went there too... You are totally hitting up the best places. I remember the plate smashing and the fires by the beach at night- those are the moments you'll always keep with you- right now there's soo much hitting you but when it sets you'll be so amazed with how for one month you got to live life- and in the past way possible- as a traveller. Anyways if you're looking for a break from the city and you need a bit of a spiritual retreat- which you prolly don't have time for- but do it anyways and go to a place called Meteora- at the base of which is Kalambaka. Meteora is this awe-inspiring place with gravity defying monstaries on the tops of cliffs- cliffs that seem to just rise right out of the ground and monstaries that have no bussiness being on top of them. You can visit the different monastaries and just look around. This place is as off the beaten track as you can get and is worht the one day trip from greece if you can do it. Make sure to find time in greece to eat lamb!!! can't remmber what your food preferences are like but just do it! Finally, If you truly want the traveller's experience I suggest buying, if you haven't already, the book "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac, for those long train rides. Kay keep on rockin' and savory every last moment! Paulo
