home stay family
Well Sam and I have had enough, Jane and Emma have gone crazy, Hoi An is a shoppers paradise, and well have they shopped. Hoi An is well known for its tailor's so the girls have been busy getting any number of new outfits, mind you i am as flash as a rat with a gold tooth with my new tailor made suit !. More on that later.

Hoi An is a lovely little town full of history, apart from the tailor's there are any number of artists studios so Jane s mum Hazel would have a ball. Sam and I left the girls to there shopping and hired a motobike at the extreme price of $3000 Vietnam Dong ( $ 2.50 Aus), brand new Honda dream 110cc, we took off to the beach which is about 5km from the main township, found a couple of seafood restaraunts right on the beach cheap will head there tommorow. Hoping to get Jane and Emma on motorbike tommorow to head to beach should be a laugh although the traffic here in Hoi An isn't anywhere near what Hanoi was. (Mind you you still have to be careful)

We have got a

fantastic unit at Hoi An, Thin Bah 111, we have a room that sleeps the four of us big bath, shower, hot water, A/C, pool and breakfast $30/night US dollars.

Shopping: As I said Jane and Emma have had a ball, there are an amazing number of tailor shops, all with touts out the front offering there services, we had several recomandations prior to getting to Hoi An but we have found it was best just to wing it. I wont go into details of what the girls have been getting made I will leave that to them to give the fashion show went we get home suffice to say that we have had to buy the mother of all suitcases just to get the gear back, hardly lightweight camping. (we will have to ask for a bigger taxi to take us to DaNang airport). Sam had a pair of softball pants made and he is tickled pink they look good to, and as I said I had a New suit made (new! the first one ever), to give you an idea of the cost I was just going to get a suit coat made but the whole lot

cost around $45 Australian, I know Tim will be laughing now wondering what the quality would be like but hell for $40 bucks it will do me (Jane says the quaility and material is superb looks allright to).

At this stage it looks as though we will be leaving Hoi An Saturday/Sunday we can get flights from Danang to Nha Trang for $35 US each, which sounds like a better option than the train. Hope everyone is well am going to attempt to place some photos on the page, Regards The TICKS!

we have just figured out how to put photos on the blog. so these photos are of SAPA earlier of the trip. more to follow.

Blown away!
What a holiday! We are very impressed. We'll save our pennies for a few years time. Can't wait to see the safari suit Adam plus the whole fashion scene. Go Emma!!! Sam you'll have to start putting in some diving practice back at home. Keep sending the blogs. Great days at the beach - perfect weather. Two down - One to go! Make the most of it, then back home to tell the tales and pay off the credit card.
