Laos
sunset from guest house From Pakse, which is a fairly quiet little town we went to Laos's old capital Champasak. The journey there was a mission ans we ended up being great entertainment for the locals by sharing local transport with them! Is was great fun as they were so hopeful, but getting back was another mission in it self. However, Champasak was interesting. There were some very old ruins of temples, which belonged to both the Hindus and Buddhists. My pictures don't really do it justice.
Today, we have just got back from the four thoudand Islands, which is the very south of Laos.It was like a little oasis after all the travelling lately. The Island we went to, Don Det, was small but did the job. There was even a great little Indian restaurant there! We spent a day kayaking (no photos of this yet), saw some dolphins (well actually only one) and then some waterfalls. It was lovely, a great way to end our time in Laos....next stop.....Vietnam ......................
