I am very sorry for my lack of updates as of recently, but circumstances out of my control have kept me from keeping in touch with my loyal followers. I would like to start off by saying that the waiting game is over and I am officially a member of the John Cabot University Gladiators. My first game was last Wednesday and it was definitely a success. I am currently the only one of the study abroad students that has made the permanent roster. Prior to the game was easily one of the most confusing experiences I have had thus far and the language barrier is strong. A 25 year old plus Roman man currently has the starting job over me. It is not usually in my character to admit that someone is better than me in something, especially goalkeeping but I can honestly say that he is better. It has taken 21 years and multiple continents and I may have found someone better than me but just being on the team is a success in my book. The JCU gladiators are currently 1-0 and I will be sure to keep you all posted on how the season turns out.
I switched gears completely from sports to partying as I hopped on a plane to Barcelona late Thursday night. We arrived and took the night off to get a jump on sightseeing. Our hostel was nice and reminded me of dorm life (in a good way). It was right on the Main Street and prime location. The roommates headed to the FC Barcelona soccer stadium. It was pretty cool and we got to have a beer in the middle of the stadium, we later found out they were non alcoholic but it was still fun. We started off the night by hitting up the local Kentucky Fried Chicken and it was delicious. Much like the KFC of home a 30 bathroom session followed but it was worth it. We hit up a local bar with over 300 shots, one of which became my instant favorite, where you roast the marshmallow and then dunk it in the shot. It was amazing. That night, we headed to a dance club on the beach. It was a blast; I have not danced like that since freshman year homecoming. We got home around 5 in the morning, which seems to be early in Barcelona standards, since they close at 8 in the morning.
The next night we hit that sightseeing hard and went on top of the Barcelona Cathedral. We hit up all the classic places and saw the sun set on the beach. After we headed to the Picasso museum, and it blew me away. That night we went to an authentic restaurant, where I sampled the local rabbit and it was up to my standard for how I usually like my rabbit prepared. We headed to a bar to watch the game and it was the kind of like a Chuck E. Cheese for adults. I did not think getting a shot through a squirt gun would be fun, but it definitely was. We then headed to a club that could easily hold 5,000 people but it obviously was not as filled but still a good time. The next morning, some of us took a later flight, so we took the opportunity to check out the number 1 aquarium in all of Europe. The aquarium completely surrounds you as you stand on the moving walkway. The Roman Roommates took their talents to Mediterranean beach and came back a stronger unit. Sorry for waiting so long for the update but I hope it was worth it.

bars
Hi Sean, I was so worried that you would spend your time studying and not have any fun. Glad you got the bars, and the drinking down. Be careful, be smart. Sew up your pockets and be safe. Love and miss you mom xo
