Hi to everyone back home. We made it!!!!
Seriously I don't know where to start, so much has happened in such a short time. Most importantly we are all GREAT. The people, the smells, the sights, it's all so different. Sam & Emma never thought they would be able to cross the road, the traffic really is as crazy as we had heard. Mum,dad & 2 kids is not unusual to see on one motorbike,
more of that later. The flight all went well although not alot of leg room for the tickner legs. Sam was fine, a little drop of phernergan in Sydney and Sam woke about an short of Saigon. At saigon our flight was delayed so we sat in transit for about three hours until we boarded our flight to Hanoi. once arriving in Hanoi (a few hrs late) a lovely guy by the name of Twe introduced himself to us and he & his driver Hom took us to our motel. Motel ATS it's fine, nothing flash but has hot running water and a western toilet.
Now that Janes version is over: its a bloody long way and the flight was painful all the same we got here safe and sound. No matter what Jane or I read prior to our arrival it did not prepare us for the sights and sounds of this country. I will remember for the rest of my life the look on Sam & Emmas face as they attempted to cross the street in Hanoi for the first time (For all those travelling with children it is not to be missed). By the way you should have seen my face. At present we are in a small sidewalk Cafe within the old Quarter of Hanoi, Emma has just worked out the price of our lunch at a total cost of $10AUS (Including Beer). Got to go my $1.50 noddles have just been served, will attempt to add more tonight. See ya the TICKS.
