PONTREMOLI
Today we got up late as usually the day before we had to get out of bed at 6.50am to get those children too school.
How dare the Italians start school at 8am. I do love there system though 8am-4pm 5 days and then 8-12 on Saturday.
(You would never have to see your children).
We decided to pick a town close every week that we have never been too, David chose today. It's funny when you only come for a short time you try and do all the big things but don't get to go to these little towns.
David chose Pontremoli it was 15mins away as we drove in it just looked like any other town with new house until we got to the old part. It was a town full of little tinny streets leading off each other and each one lead to the river. The dark little streets were filled with dark little shops.
It's good doing all these things now it's not too cold but you don't have to fight for parks because there are no tourists.
We wondered around the town and then had lunch at TRATTORIA NORINA, David
and I had Polenta with fungi and Madison and Isaac had the town speciality testarolo with pesto. For seconds we had Scallapini, stuffed onions, lamb cuttlets and David had roast meat with Frijoli (white beans) Ours were better.
Top it off with some red wine and all was good.

Food
What a feast. Almost as good as Sizzler. Chicken I can only imagine what that the combination of funghi and beans did to your digestive system. 4 weeks until we fly to Rome!
