So we finally arrived in Beijing and to say it was a bit mad is an understatement!! the first thing i did was go and buy me and Dim a cheesburger from MCD's - proper Brits abroad!! At least the Chinese girl Maggie we met had booked our tickets for the next destination for us, as trying to negotiate in Chinese is pretty difficult EXCEPT she had booked us to go to the wrong destination in the opposite direction even though I had shown her our itinerary over and over!! Bless her that is why we all liked her so much - head in the clouds!!!

Chilled that night and went to a mad restaurant then met Maggie and Michael the next day to change our tickets and Maggie took us to Tianemen Square and showed us how to get to the Forbidden City - this was so old and lovely to see. That night we had arranged to meet with everyone from the tour and go for a goodbye meal together - Me, Dim, Ryan, Flo and Helen met but couldn't find the restaurant and had no way of communicating with others so ended up in a lovely cheap

place with cheap beer - but some western louts who were dressed as women - DICKS!!! We ended up in a Canadian bar after and met some nice people there i was talking to a Chinese girl most of the night and Dim to this Canadian DJ, there was a token brit proper steaming a journalist apparently but looked more like a rent boy (so Dim says) to us!!

The next day was a right off due to drinking till 4 and we had 2 McDs for breakfast and dinner!! The next day we went to Great Wall which was really good except it was knackering which i did not expect. We stumbled across a really cool place that you made your own food no other westerner but packed with Chinese and really great food!

The next day was bye bye to Ryan and Flo and onward to Xian but that is when the real fun started........

Big hello from cold and rainy Leeds! Photos are great, looks like you're having a great time. Good to see Dim isn't holding back on the food, he's got some reet portions in front of him. Nino said he'll come back looking rather rotund (not sure how he knows about these things, ha ha). Everything looks fantastic, apart from the turtle keyrings - What the F***! Mel said she had a skype chat with you, so we'll have a look at getting it set up on the laptop. Take care and enjoy all the weird and wonderful food and make sure you try to deep fried chicken feet, mmm.
