L-90 minutes! After a short night in a Seattle hotel, and a quick enjoyable visit with Uncle Paul and adorable cousin Baby Gavin, we are safely to the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and ready to fly away to China!
We are 6 now as we have joined with Grandparents Jim & Sandy and things are going swimmingly well.
Thanks to so many of you for all your love and labors in helping us prepare for this long journey which is finally unfolding. We are blessed beyond measure! Thanks for all your well wishes and prayers. They have clearly made a manifest difference!
We are feeling grateful that this 9/11 is quiet and calm, devoid of any burning Qur'ans or associated flight delays! We are scheduled to arrive in Beijing at 4pm local China time. As we fly west, with the planet silently spinning beneath us in the opposite direction, we fly half a day under the same afternoon sunshine, crossing the international date line and magically advancing (losing) a full day. We will be leaving at 2pm Saturday in Seattle, arriving at 4pm Sunday in Beijing, and hopefully not fully aware of the diurnal/biological 2am which our collective hypothalami and adrenal
glands will be sensing! (I suspect we'll be hitting the reset button on the hypothalamus with a little melatonin! Better living through chemistry?)

ni hao kai lan ! That's all my Chinese! Bon Voyage! We are thinking of all of you and wondering if you brought neck cushions to sleep on the plane. I told Katie about the time difference and she said, "That is so cool! Now they can tell us the future!" I tried to think of how to explain the time change to her but it was too much mental energy and I just let it ride. So if you want to share the future, feel free to tell us your predictions from 13 hours ahead in time. Love, Anna
