So last night we got back to our hotel after our day of shopping expecting to have confirmation for our shark dive adventure for today. Instead, we received notice that the weather was not looking good and the dive would be cancelled. So today ended up being a free day for us in Cape Town. This left us only two remaining days here with two full days worth of activities remaining. After numerous emails and unsuccessful phone calls between our travel agent here in South Africa as well as in NYC we made little progress but still have our plans left up in the air. At the moment for tomorrow we are going on our township walk in the morning and if the seas aren't too choppy, taking the ferry to Robben Island for our tour in the afternoon. Then we will go shark diving on Monday. However, if the seas do not cooperate tomorrow then we will be unable to go to Robben Island and still have shark diving remaining for Monday. We're both keeping our fingers crossed and the weather cooperates so that we can do both activities. Needless to say I was less than pleased today with the

prospect of missing out on either of these activities as they were both things that I was very excited about.

Since we had today off we decided to finish our shopping and get a closer look at Cape Town Stadium (Green Point Stadium? I've seen it called both. Don't know the correct name yet). We went to the stadium and they actually do guided tours on Saturday so we bought a ticket and took a tour. The stadium was only finished being built at the end of 2009 so it is relatively new. It was most recently used to host 8 games of the World Cup. It was really interesting to see because inside the stadium there are no advertisements, no food vendors, and just nothing at all. The walls are bare and there's nothing but a grass field and empty seats. We walked all around the stadium and got to see the VIP boxes, press area, player locker rooms, the prison (required by FIFA for all stadiums hosting the World Cup) and got to walk to the field but were not allowed to walk on the grass. It was a good tour and helped us kill a good chunk of time for the day since we didn't have much else planned. After our tour we had lunch at the Paulaner Brauhaus on the waterfront and had some good German beer, bratwurst, and pretzels. Jason and I then finished our shopping (except for our expensive brandy purchase... still to come) and made our way back to the hotel. We took a nap, finished another delicious dinner at the hotel and are relaxing for the remainder of the evening to get ready for what hopefully will be a full, busy day tomorrow.
