Bao
Thomas is all that you need We got to the hotel at about 10 p.m. and were in bed around midnight. Yesterday was, of course, super long, but all went pretty well. It started at 3 a.m., when we woke up. We scooped Bao up at about 5 a.m. to head out the door. That is when he first saw his Thomas the train rolling backpack and it was, as they say, love at first sight. We got it for him because 1. We knew of his love of all things Thomas, 4. (per Bao's system of counting) We knew he would hold onto that handle in a death grip and not get too far away from us in the airport, and 9. We wanted him to feel like he had some luggage too.
He was in a surprisingly good mood all day (and well, we were too when Delta against all statistical probability did not cancel our first flight). The highlight for him was probably when a woman at the airport let us ride along in her cart thingie (never did know the proper name of these) to get to our gate. Bao had been staring at it longingly and she asked if we wanted
The Day
Just Seems to Go On and On to hop aboard. "Hay ride!" "Hay ride!", he insisted that it was and would not be convinced otherwise. Well, I know I was raised in a big city, and hadn't ever been on one, but am pretty sure that it wasn't it. When we went to get off, a male traveler in the front of the cart stayed on, which made Bao crazy with jealousy, causing him to shout repeatedly "Hit man", "hit man". I don't know, maybe he was one.
During our 5 hour layover we chatted with a Belgian couple who were just returning from a 9 month trip to South America. Bao didn't care that they didn't speak much English and chattered on.
Korean Air was fabulous, new plane, bigger seats, toys for Bao, wine for us. Only problem was that Bao was such a seat hog and when he slept between us, put his head down on my seat and his feet up on Allen's so it felt like we were in tiny seats much of the way.
We forgot the converter to this dang Mac! cannot believe it, am going to publish now so I don't lose this entry. Hello from Beijing!!!!

YEA!!
I have been thinking of all of you since you left. I'm glad the trip was not awful. If the worst part was Bao hogging the seats then it was a wonderful trip! Go get a converter so you can keep us updated! Relax the next few days and enjoy!!
