Day 8 - 09 April (429 km)
Kalgoorlie to Esperance
Arrived her at lunchtime and booked into a lovely caravan park on the shore. Nice outlook. Crappy weather, cloudy. We went for a look around the town and saw Sammy the seal on the jetty. He apparently is the resident seal and comes in for a feed for the fisherman’s scraps. He also brought a mate with him. Kiera made up a song for him and was singing it to him. We named the mate Sally. It was freezing on the jetty. We all had hats and coats on. We went out for tea this night to the local pub and spoke to some locals about the spots at Le Grand National Park.

Day 9 - 10 April
Esperance
My birthday was great. Went to Le Grand National Park and how spectacular this was. The bluest water and the whitest sand. We went 4WDing on Lucky Bay beach. The sand was rock hard. It was a sunny day but windy only about 20 odd degrees. Had a picnic lunch on the beach and drove to all the spots in the park. The walks were over an hour long and we didn’t think the kids could handle it so we didn’t do any. We stocked up with meat and had it all vaccum sealed. The family bought me a banana cake for my birthday and sang Happy Birthday. I had a lovely dinner with our Melbourne Rib Eye Steaks.

Day 10 - 11 April
Esperance
We were going to move on today but decided not to. It has been raining all night and it is cloudy. This was a chill out day to catch up on everything. Duane & Graeme have gone fishing off the jetty. Kiera and I are just hanging around. We are going to Bremer Bay tomorrow. I think about 300 km’s away.
Just read everybody's messages. Thanks for all my birthday greetings. Duane says hello to 3SW and he is enjoying his school work. He has been learning about the five senses and now the human body. His feet are not sore anymore. He had to do a project on textures so he picked up a piece of wool for this. How's Charlie, Harry?
Dawn I will look into your question.

Fish on the menu?
Great to catch up on your travels thus far - looks fab. Looking at the Cape Le Grand photo's, you must be tired of catching so many fish in such a hot looking fishing spot.
