Well, already we only have one week left down under - and its gone so quickly! Melbourne has been fantastic; its the kind of city you could keep exploring forever and always discover new, interesting places. The jaw dropping cake shops nearby on Acland street; the Eureka tower, the highest residential tower in the southern hemisphere; the central Federation Square with its modern cinema and Tim Burton exhibition; the free immigration musuem; the graffitied backstreets which are mantained by the government and feature some Banksy; winning litres of beer during Base bingo; going dancing with our dorm; finding the best soup stand ever - where they keep the soup in cauldrons and you feel as if its all pot luck (I didn't even mean to make that terrible pun) but really everything is fantastic, especially with home made sandwiches; checking out the overpriced vintage; watching Bill Bailey live in the largest Oz theatre (he was incredible!); frequently mooching around the second hand bookshop and heading down the Pier in St Kilda in anticipation of seeing some penguins at dusk.
Thats just off the top of my head. The whole of Melbourne has been utterly fantastic - which is pretty impressive as its been so cold (today its raining). But as of tonight we're off to Sydney on a twelve hour bus ride (7pm to 7am so we should just sleep through it) and then we reach another Base backpackers. Its been an amazing place to stay just because there is so much going on and we've met a lot of really nice people.
We're planning on doing some wine tasting (we're still on the look out for Shelter bay wine!) and a few other day trips - just see what takes our fancy - but it should be awesome; by the time we reach Fiji we'll be in need of a beach holiday or, more importantly, a tan!
Ed and I are both in good nick, both a bit bored of bread as the basis of three meals a day so we've decided we'd shake things up with pasta next week - living on the edge! We will update you on our arrival in Sydney after we've done some exploring so, for now, take care, lots of love - goodbye! xxxxx

Eastaffians: Hannah was nice to chat to you two days ago, everything is generally fab here everyone. How is the USA? What have you been up to? Mum thank you very much for buying clothes, thats awesome I'm feeling very dull in my clothes currently! Also thanks to both of you for the dinner suggestion - haven't used it yet but will in Sydney. 😊
Mum/Dad (this is Ed by the way) - don't suppose there's been anything through about my tax refund?

Sydney.
Back to earth for us! If you possibly can, do take a trip from Circular Quay across to Manley, just to see the wonderful headlands through whch Cook saw Sydney Harbour. Also, the Opera house is worth a look inside even if you cannot see anything on stage. Darling Harbour area is also vibrant. Keep the blogs coming - we check every day. xxx
