About an hour away is the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point. It was a short afternoon adventure after Woodstock. We drove there all along the coast on this toll road, which passes by Chapman’s Peak. SO beautiful. This place is really magical. On the toll road we went through a half tunnel that was blown out of the rock. You will see pictures it was super neat.
This is the western most part of South Africa and supposedly where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Indian Ocean. It is a stunning view of the mountains on all sides, greenish blue clear water, whale watching, a little hiking and a couple of light houses. We saw wild ostriches, baboons, antelope and only one whale. It wasn’t the most beautiful day, but it was something that I really wanted to do before it got super crowded with world cup visitors.
