May 19th

We slept in until 11 this morning, so we are not quite used to the time change yet. We are staying with Filip's grandma while we are in Prague. Filip called the Czech Airlines to see about our bag, and if it had come in already, or if they had at least located it. They had located it in London, and thought that it should have been on the flight that had come in half an hour before, but were not yet sure. We tried to venture out to find this grocery store near Babi’s (Grandmas) apartment that might have some soy yogurt and other items that I could eat, but since it was cold and rainy we didn’t look around for long and went back to the apartment. Filip again tried the Czech airline to see if they had found our bag. They said it was not on the first flight and that there was another flight on its way, and maybe it will be on that one. They also said not to call back until the evening. We are thinking that if they still don’t have it this evening, we will also call British Airways, since they were our original carrier and see what they can do to get us our bag.
We went to visit Filips’ other grandparents in the afternoon and Filip talked to them while I sat there. I really do need to learn more Czech so I can actually communicate, and don’t just sit there when we visit a lot of his family. After, we took a tram downtown to go shopping at Country Life, and went also to their restaurant which has all vegan food. Filip again called the airline when we got back to the apartment and they assured him the bag will be on the flight that arrives tomorrow at 11am. We will be going to the airport anyway because Filip's mom arrives tomorrow morning at 9:20. I can only hope that all the unfortunate luck with the trip here is out of the way, and the rest of our travels will be smooth. In the evening we went over to Filip's aunt and uncle, Gabina and Jirka's, apartment which is just a 2 minute walk from his grandma’s apartment.

I had a horrible time sleeping last night, not falling asleep at all until after 4am, and since we were going to the airport this morning to pick up Filip's mom, I did not get to sleep in at all once I finally fell asleep. I guess I am not adjusting as well as I thought I would. Last year it seemed to be much easier to adjust to the time change. When we went to the airport, we were also finally able to get our lost luggage, hooray. The funny thing is they put a new tag on it that said “Rush”, yet the bag got here almost 48 hours after we did, hmm.
We took a cab from the airport to the family apartment in Repy, a neighborhood west of Prague by the airport. Then the three of us went to lunch at a pizzeria called Jerry’s and came back to the apartment to meet up with Filip's sister Silvie, and her two boys, Matous and Stepan. His Dad Lada also came over, and we spent the afternoon together, and passed out gifts we had brought for everyone.
Then Filip and I went back to Babi’s apartment and relaxed for a bit before meeting up with his Dad, Stepmom Mila, and Sister for dinner at Radost FX. Radost is a restaurant, lounge, and nightclub. The restaurant is vegetarian, which also has many vegan options, and is perfect for me. Unfortunately for us, smoking is still allowed in restaurants and bars here, so it was a bit smoky. The times we were here last year, it wasn’t so busy, so there hadn’t been so much smoke before. I must say, it’s quite unappealing while you’re eating to smell and breath in that smoke. You must get used to it, but I can’t imagine actually smoking while eating, kinda made me feel sick. Then we took a nice walk home by the train station and went to bed. It felt good to be tired at the appropriate time. Hopefully this means I am back on track with the time.
