Now the Lord said to Abram,
Go forth from your country,
And from your relatives,
And from your father's house,
To the land which I will show you.
Genesis 12:1
He did so, in obedience to his God.
I feel as he must have then. God has issued this call to go to Haiti. I have been blessed by a dedication service at my church last Sunday, as well as a multitude of prayers from family and friends. I have spent this last week, gradually stripping away the external parts of 'Myrtle' to get to the core of who I am and to be able to say - God, this is what you have to work with, may it serve you well. I have fasted and prayed.
I have a sense of peace and calm (or perhaps my mind is just numb with this surreal call from God). I am as ready as I can become. I trust that He will walk each step of this journey with me, granting me whatever resource I will need, whatever words or actions I need to say or do. Tomorrow, I depart to Haiti.

In awe
Myrtle: Have been thinking of you often. The student has definitely passed (one of) the teachers. Blessings, Dave
