Gary's alarm went off yesterday morning at around 8 and I'm not saying I'm quick, but I did actually get over there before the alarm quit on its own. A personal best. Considering I had to put on a shirt and boots and lock my door and set my alarm on the way out...... Not bad. I walked around the outside of his house and it apparently had just been big blackbirds, according to his theory. From the front corner of the outside of his house, I looked toward the ocean, but I noticed some activity just inside the development, on the road down. There were two cowboys on horses, wearing hats and all, and they were trying to gather and herd about a dozen of our resident white bovine with horns. (I'm not a real cowboy, so I don't know much about specific names for the cows or steers or whatever.)

I watched as the two of them soon had the cattle tearing through brush and head-high grass away from them. I don't know where the two cowboys were herding them but it didn't make sense to me. It looked like the cattle was headed further on down. I'm sure the cowboys must have a plan, I thought. Maybe the catter was being directed to better grass on the lower lots of the development.

I looked around. Behind me I could see down below the backside of the hill to where trucks and cars were climbing up the highway. I turned back to the cowboys and the stampeding cattle. It's not everyday, you can experience Lonsome Dove before your second cup of coffee. I walked back over to my house.

To go walk to the other houses for a last minute check in the evening, I have to carry Gary's house and garage keys and his remote for the house alarm, my door keys and the keys to my door bars, my remote control for the house alarm, and my keys and remote control for my car, since I'll move it when I get back. I also carry the key to my new gate, and another key to the development's new gate. On my key ring, I also have to have a key to the pump house to turn the pump on and off.

On top of that, I'm authorized to distribute 'stamped' keys to the new main gate if the person hands over fifty bucks to me. Those keys are all laid out on Gary's kitchen table along with the ledger that has key numbers, names and blanks for more names.

Well, I better put all those keys and remotes in the pockets of my blue jeans, pull up my pants and saunter over for a last look. I don't have a gun. I just carry my cell phone, so I can run and call 911.

Man Purse
Sounds like a man purse to house all those keys is necessary. And would like to see a picture of you "sauntering".
