We definitely felt that we could have spent more time here! It really is a beautiful place and although the infrastructure is still developing there is enough to keep you busy for a couple of weeks. We flew into Phnom Penh where we visited the imperial Palace and Silver Pagoda which were beautiful. We also visited the Killing Fields and Shot an AK47 (All I can say is that I wouldn't want to be on the other side of the barrel)!

We then travelled up the river to Siem Riep to see Angkor and the temples. What was meant to take 5 hours ended up taking 8 and it was really hot. The first couple of hours were great as we passed many local fishing villages. However once the river opened out into the lake it was like being in the middle of the ocean!

However the destination was definitely worth the voyage. The Angkor temples are some of the most breathtaking buildings on earth and should be in everybody's top ten! We took a full day from 8am to 6pm and saw some of the main temples including Angkor Wot although it would be easy to spend 2 or 3 full days touring around the area.

We decided not to get the boat back to Phnom Penh on the way back but to fly directly to Bangkok where we'll catch up next!
